Ever have a day where you feel like your world is crashing in on you? If not, good for you! If you are like the majority of us that do, how do you handle it?
It is not easy sometimes to find your way out of those moments. It is important to express your feelings and talk to someone if you can. You may feel that you are the only one out there that has it bad, but the truth is there is probably someone worse off than you. You need to stop and put your problems in perspective. On the grand scheme of things, the way you are feeling is probably because a bunch of little things are hitting you all at once. If you break things down and look at each individual problem on its own it may be easier to handle.
Next time you have a moment like this, stop yourself, take a deep breath and say “I can handle this.” Try to look at what is bothering you in a logical manner. (I know this is difficult when your emotions take over.) If you can think about things logically, break down your issues into little segments and attack one at a time. Trying to deal with everything at once, is when you get overwhelmed and freeze.
Once you break things down, take a moment and praise yourself for taking the first step. If that’s all you can handle for that moment, stop. It’s ok to take baby steps. I know that most of us want instant gratification, but that is not reality. We need to realize that things take time and we accomplish more when we take that time.
I believe strongly in self talk. You need to tell yourself you are doing the best you can. Remind yourself to breathe and KNOW that this overwhelming feeling is just temporary.
What other ways help you to deal with being overwhelmed? Comment here or feel free to email me at beandstayhappy@gmail.com ~Ang ♥

Here is a blog that a friend of mine wrote about me! I wanted to share it with you because everybody takes commitment to a different level. For me, I had a tattoo put on my wrist to remind me often of Serenity. Reblogged from: Success – Whatever it Takes!
If you’re a Seinfeld fan, then you know about George’s father trying to calm himself with the “Serenity Now” mantra. It didn’t work for him because he was the perennial nut-job and nothing would change his character.
If you never knew about George’s father, it doesn’t matter. The word Serenity itself is calming – no harsh sounds. My friend Angela who is pretty hip – as well as beautiful – has some body art and it looks great on her. One tattoo that really caught my eye was the word “Serenity” inked on her wrist.
When I asked her why, she said that for her, seeing the word “Serenity” written there, helped her to calm herself when she was feeling crazed. It was a very personal reminder for her to breathe, think good thoughts, be positive, and generally feel good about herself and her life.
Now, for most of us, a simple post-it on the fridge, or on the laptop, would serve the purpose, but not for my Angela. She needed to have it inscribed on her body so she could really “feel” it when she needed to. Some might call this extreme, I call it commitment.
When you are truly committed to something you believe in, having some way to remind yourself that you deeply care about it, someway to remember that you care about it, is a very positive thing. Maybe it’s a photo, maybe it’s a friend reminding you, maybe it’s an alert on your phone. Maybe it’s a physical thing, like Angela. Whatever works for you! It really is important to have a meaningful way of reminding yourself, consciously, that you care.
Commitment is a beautiful thing; IT’S WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL. Use whatever tools you need to access your personal commitment. It couldn’t hurt! ♦ Ruth

I love inspirational quotes. They get me to stop and think. Many of us need a quick reminder that there are some amazing things in our life that we overlook. By reading a quote, it can remind me to be in the moment. Quotes bring different things to different people. What value do quotes bring to your life?

I think this quote explains what quotes bring to our lives. As busy people we get caught up in so many things that we fail to stop and think about what it is we are doing and why. We just continue to do. Take time to stop and smell the roses… as they say!
This is our journey and it will be what we make of it!

“The best thing about the future is that it only comes one day at a time.” Abraham Lincoln
Lately this quote has been close to my heart. So many times we get caught up with thinking about what is going on tomorrow or next week that we forget about today. I am trying to teach myself to slow down. No need to stress out about the future it really does only come one day at a time. I believe it is important to have a plan but if your plan doesn’t work out exactly that way, who is it hurting? Probably no one except you, so let it go and try to go with the flow!
I am constantly thinking about this journey that I am on and thinking of ways to live it better than the day before. Here are a list of things that I believe we need to remind ourselves of often:

I could go on and on…. For me, the thing that is the hardest is remembering that I can not please everyone and that not everyone is going to like me. I like to help people find what makes them happy. When I run into a person who isn’t receptive to my positivity, I have begun to learn that not everyone is ready to be happy. Some just truly like to be miserable, or maybe they don’t know what it feels like to be happy?
I choose to live each day by trying to put a smile on at least one person’s face. This in turn puts a smile on mine! If we could all just try to make one person smile each day, imagine what could happen!

Life has an amazing way of teaching you things. You are always learning something whether or not you even know it. Recently, I have had to really do some soul searching to understand why certain people have been brought in my life. Which brought me to the below poem about people in your lives. This is one that I am sure that most of us have seen but until you really need to reflect upon it, you don’t truly get the meaning.
Reason, Season, or Lifetime
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is,
you will know what to do for each person.When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty;
to provide you with guidance and support;
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person,
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.— Unknown
As I read this now, I am able to truly see the impact of certain people in my life. I cherish my friendships and believe they are what make our lives so special.
As you go through life, take time to appreciate all your friendships regardless if they are for a reason, season or lifetime!

What's your Mission
About a year ago in a class I was taking, I had to come up with a personal mission statement. This was such an insightful thing to do! I highly suggest you take some time to reflect and come up with a mission statement of your own!
Here is my Mission!
-My mission is to lead a happy, fulfilling life while inspiring others to do the same. I will learn from my past without regret. I will set goals and continuously work towards them. I will maintain positive thoughts. I will find peace within myself by looking inward. I will use my heart to guide my dreams and desires, and my mind to pursue knowledge to grow. I will embrace challenges and learn from them. I will always cherish my relationships with family and friends and the bonds we share. I will be the best parent I can be by raising my son to be honest, independent, and confident, while instilling strong morals and values. I will have passion for all the things I do. I will enjoy every moment along this journey and find laughter, love, and happiness in each day.-
There are many great resources online to help you create one. I suggest looking at Franklin Covey’s website for ideas on where to start.
Remember there is no right or wrong with this. It is a simple exercise that will help you keep your life on the path you want even when there are bumps in the road.
Please share your mission with me! If you do not want to post here feel free to email me at beandstayhappy@gmail.com
Smile!
